Whistle is the level two Sound gag. It succeeds the Bike Horn but precedes the Bugle.
General
The Whistle can be obtained once the toon earns a total of "40" Sound skill points. A toon can move up to the next level gag, the Bugle, after earning a total of 200 Sound skill points.
When first obtained, the Whistle can deal a maximum damage of "5". The maximum damage gradually increases if the Sound skill bar increases, maximizing to a damage of "7" after obtaining the next gag. If grown on a tree and is organic, the maximum damage increases by one.
As with all Sound gags, the Whistle targets all cogs and does not get a lure bonus for hitting the cog.
A toon can carry a maximum of five Whistles when first obtained. After earning the Foghorn gag, a toon can carry a maximum of twenty-five Whistles.
Skill points
|
To determine the next increase in damage for a Whistle, take the number of skill points required to obtain the next gag and divide it by one more than the number of increase (the maximum damage + 1 - the original damage). You should therefore get an estimate.
The Whistle equation:
For every 53 skill points, the Whistle's damage increases.
Damage | Skill points |
---|---|
5 | 40 |
6 | 94 |
7 | 147 |
Animation
- The toon will pull out a megaphone from the right pocket area.
- The toon will step forward, and a whistle will appear from the megaphone, creating a whistle noise that stuns the cogs. If it misses, the cogs will not do anything and the words 'MISSED' will appear above the cogs.
- The cogs will either return back to normal or be destroyed.
Trading card
Trivia
- According to the "Toon News for the Amused", Telemarketers dislike this Gag because "they hate that when you do that on the phone."
- You gain one point of damage for every 53 experience points.
- Bea Sharpe, an SOS toon, uses this gag when summoned. Her Whistle does 10 damage, while the maximum damage of a regular Whistle is 7.
- The cog on the trading card is a Penny Pincher.
- In Tug of War, you can hear it when the game starts.
